I’m holding off on the whole Trump mug shot t-shirt merch glut, that’s surely hit everywhere by now, at least for the time being.
Sure, I despise that criminal fuck and want to mock him and his Cult of Morons at every well-deserved opportunity but it’s also a very serious — nay historic! — moment. We should have some appreciation for the significance of this moment.
For the first time in the history of the United States, not only did a former President try to overturn the results of an election he lost, he is now facing multiple charges related to that effort, and — at least in one indictment — is being treated, more or less, as a criminal defendant as symbolized by his mug shot: a ghoulish, low quality photo of a ghoulish, low quality, self-serving con-man; rapist; and failed President of the United States of America.
